When I was younger my older brother was my favorite person to be around. I wasn’t a girly girl although I would make him play house or Barbie with me from time to time. But that was nothing compared to playing with his GI Joe’s, race tracks, and game systems.
His first system was Atari, and I was a fan of Frogger and Pacman. We’d get up early Saturday mornings and play until our mom was awake and making pancakes. The next system he got was Nintendo and Mario Brothers, then Sega and Sonic the Hedgehog, and the list could go on and on. We spent hours laughing, teasing, smiling, and being kids.
We may not be kids anymore, but we still engage in activities that bring us the same feelings. We still find moments to leave the office early, take off the Tuesday after the holiday, eat pizza and wings until we need to adjust our pants, or reminisce about the things we thought we could get away with growing up. We still find time to step away from work and play.
